Proof of Life

I'll keep this short because I've been recovering from COVID-19 with my dear sweet husband. The flu-like symptoms have passed so I think the worst is behind us but we are both very tired and resting most of the day.

Last weekend's retreat was super nurturing, supportive and healing. It was my second retreat at the Christine Center in Wisconsin and I truly savored my visit. I stayed in a newly-remodeled hermitage and the woods and trees were so beautiful in that particular part of the woods. I hiked twice on Saturday because the retreat schedule was open and had open blocks of time for just that. I took lots of pictures in the woods! The forest holds so much beauty, each twist and turn of the trail offering more to "Ooooh and aaaahhh" about. The changing and falling leaves were a delight. I would have loved a couple more days there!

Once again I was really touched by the love and support of other women, some of them strangers, some of them already friends or in the "getting to know" friendship phase. But I was really amazed at how supportive we can be for each other, especially when we come together into community for each other. I realized that I wasn't just going there for myself, I was really going to be supportive for these other women, whoever that happened to be. Because a different group came this time, I am getting to know more women in the community, which is really super nice.

The appointment with Mayo has been pushed to Friday the 14th due to getting COVID. I'll sign up for the phase II study and have an ultrasound and biopsy at that time.

Stay well. Thank you for reading (and sharing).

Love,

Annette
