Yesterday I saw Dr. Perez, he evaluated me, we talked (and I reminded him of my cancer care history at Regions hospital before Mayo) and he immediately went to work to look to see when my last scans were. He shared with me his thinking and I watched as he set out to order a CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis, a whole body bone scan and breast MRI. So three separate scans to cover all the bases. It's been about six months since I had the bone scan and the breast MRI. He didn't waste any time, and there was no deliberation.. he even talked about the next line, the second line treatment and was very encouraging about how effective it is. He said the difference is like night and day between the current treatment and the effectiveness of the second line treatment. That's encouraging. It's a serious health condition that can be managed. I left wondering if I have I gotten an upgrade in my cancer care? All the doctors I've had have been great. But there's something about this one that just makes me think he's even better.

So all this has been scheduled for early next week, Monday, and Tuesday. This puts a jangly crimp in my Monday plan of having that day free for my study program that I'm doing. So I will plan accordingly and fit that in today and this upcoming days. I'm really enjoying the program, there's a lot of material and I'm trying to process at all by taking notes, even though it's primarily an oral tradition. But I've learned over the years, as an adult learner, I do best when I take notes.
So we are starting to get into Dr. Alberto Villoldo'a book, grow a new body, if you're interested. Take a look. I actually read this book last year, but was overwhelmed with the supplement recommendations and really felt like I needed to work with somebody if I was gonna do the program. Luckily, now, I have guidance right from the source and the Mayo Integrative care team has been supportive in reviewing the supplements recommended by this book.
That's where I'm at, I am being diligent at maintaining focus in the present moment. It's the only way.
I hope this message finds you well. Don't be shy! Let me know how you're doing. Thanks in advance!
Please keep us informed of your results. It sounds as if you have a physician who is listening and evaluating your symptoms and past history. Finally! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. All you can do is get the tests, the results and go from there. Love to you.
